It can be quite difficult for young children to follow what takes place during Mass, so during school
term time the Children' Liturgy is celebrated during 11am Sunday Mass at The Transfiguration in the Old Town.
The aim of the Children's Liturgy is to explain the meaning of the Mass and the Gospel in a way that children below Year 7 can understand.
The children are separated into two groups - Infants and Juniors - so that they can celebrate the Liturgy of the Word in a manner that is appropriate for their level of understanding. They then rejoin their families in church for the offertory procession and the Eucharist.
Please note:
owing to the lack of space in the Presbytery, Health & Safety and Child
Protection Legislation, only children who are pre-registered will be allowed to attend each term.
